SUMMARY

The Lead DevOps Engineer leads the DevOps activities of one or more software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Lead DevOps Engineer will use expertise to develop strategic plans, refine requirements, and provide technical leadership in achieving development objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Design, implement, and scale robust GitOps-based workflows to ensure consistent, secure, and traceable software deployments.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of automated CI/CD pipelines using modern DevSecOps tools.
  • Maximize Observability and foster adoption of monitoring and alerting, to achieve high SLAs and minimize recurring maintenance efforts.
  • Drive containerization best practices and work closely with developers to optimize containerized application delivery using Kubernetes and related CNCF technologies.
  • Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams to build scalable, reusable, and secure development platforms that accelerate product development across Ansys.
  • Play a key role in aligning platform engineering efforts with DIAMOND security and development initiatives.
  • Engage cross-functionally with developers, security, and operations teams to streamline application onboarding, security practices, and deployment standards.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Spacelift, and ArgoCD.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks in development workflows, promoting automation and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior DevOps engineers and developers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience
  • Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient DevOps practices and infrastructure
  • Substantial experience withsource code versiontools (git) andautomated continuous integration software, such asAzureDevOps



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Technical knowledge and experience with AzureDevOps, Conan,Nuget,CMake, SCONS and other build management and package management software
  • Familiarity with platform engineering concepts
  • Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native patterns.
