National Grid is hiring a Manager, NY Emergency Planning Exercise and Training to be based in Liverpool, NY.

The Role

The New York Manager of Emergency Planning Exercise and Training will work collaboratively across the New York business units to prepare the New York workforce to plan for and respond to operational disruptions within the framework of New York's Electric and Gas Emergency Response Plans, Company Policy, National & Regional protocols, and legal and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

* Oversee the planning, scheduling, conduct, and evaluation of New York's Emergency Planning Exercise and Training programs for the local (Branch/Division) and State level Command, General Staff, and Support Functions that are focused on Electric and Gas Emergency Response
* Ensure exercises and training programs meet compliance requirements for all Federal, State, County, and Local legal and regulatory requirements
* Provide leadership and guidance to New York's exercise and training program team members
* Emphasis will be on Response Plan compliance for the managing of electric and or gas emergencies where interruptions of service caused by storms and other natural disasters, civil unrest, major equipment failure, or other emergency events impact National Grid Customers
* Incorporate the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) guiding principles into the operating practice of the New York Emergency Planning Exercise and Training function to establish a consistent and sustainable approach to exercise program management, design, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning
* Develop a quantitative exercise and training evaluation process that will include regular reporting of programmatic key performance indicators

About You

* Bachelor's degree or certificate in Emergency Management or Teaching required
* 4+ years of emergency management experience required
* 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred
* Familiarity with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and experience using the Incident Command System (ICS) required
* Knowledgeable of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) preferred
* Ability to work beyond normal scheduled business hours as needed and in support of emergency response
* Ability to travel throughout New York with occasional travel requirements outside of New York.

Salary

$121,000 - $142,000 a year
