Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Public Health Leadership Program is an interdisciplinary program offering a master's degree and two active academic certificates. Our vision is to create public health leaders with the vision and ability to anticipate and solve future health challenges wherever they occur throughout the world. The Public Health Leadership Program offers a customized curriculum to meet the demands of busy practitioners in public health and medical care. We offer courses delivered through a combination of traditional classroom, online and hybrid formats, bolstered by practical, hands-on experience. In doing so, we create leaders who share a command of the latest technology and the most current public health approaches, who are adept at learning from their experiences, and who utilize these skills to create new opportunities for improvement.
Position Summary
This position will serve as a Research Data Analyst for current projects within the Department of Public Health Leadership and Practice and the North Carolina Institute for Public Health. Projects include but are not limited to: Developing Local and Regional Academic Health Departments, Burke County Mental Health Collaborative Systems Mapping and Strengthening, Community Co-Design for Street Medicine, and Local Health Department Data Evaluation and Monitoring.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools. Experience with cloud computing platforms and/or high-performance computing environments. Experience in systems thinking, systems mapping, network analysis, or statistical modeling desired. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Programming skills in R, Stata, SAS, or similar languages are strongly preferred.
