Job Title: System Integration Designer Job Location: Pittsburgh, PA Job Type: Full Time Duties: Implement and execute Verification, Integration and Test activities to confirm designs are fit for intended use and fit Quality, Cost and Delivery targets. Detail and perform all in-house activities related to Verification, Integration and Testing performed by the V&V team, and interface with experts delegated in other departments. Identify if activities need to be exported to projects or site execution, and follow-up on results. Collaborate with design teams to share and detail the results of V&V activities. Come to a consensus with Verification & Validation manager on strategy, scheduling and budget, and share progress, results, and issues encountered during execution. Contribute to the definition of the Program Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan, and take steps for implementation. Define verification methodology for selected deliverables when requested in V&V strategy. Define test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities. Perform and report allocated verification, integration and test activities. Where applicable, share and justify results with Safety Assurance Manager to feed the safety demonstration. Collaborate with experts in other department to align on selected V&V activity methodology. Represent Alstom in interactions with customers or partners, such as to provide overview of test progress, issues, risks and opportunities. Specify, procure, develop, set up, and configure assets such as testbenches and instrumentation. Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs. Provide feedback for REX sessions and continuous improvement. Manage configuration and change management cycle related with V&V activities (simulation configuration, anomaly tracking etc.). In Projects, follow up with T&C for tests exported to site execution. Design and prototype user-friendly internal tools that enhance engineering workflows and efficiency. Develop and implement software solutions using Java or C# programming languages and frameworks, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Create comprehensive documentation for tool usage for engineering staff. Gather feedback from users to iterate and improve tool functionality and performance over time. May telecommute 2 days per week. Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a System Integration Designer-related occupation.
