Position Summary

The Associate Director of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) is a US medical expert responsible for designing, executing, and publishing HEOR and real world evidence (RWE) studies and models supporting various business aspects such as market preparation, product launch, demonstrating value, market access, and clinical development. The Associate Director will support the Company's market access strategy by generating evidence regarding the clinical and economic value of imetelstat and future therapies. The Associate Director will also be responsible for the creation, review, and delivery of accurate, non-promotional medical information for key evidence generation projects.

This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The Associate Director will report to the Executive Director, HEOR.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and execute HEOR and RWE studies and models that generate meaningful evidence for value demonstration and differentiation of imetelstat
  • Collaborate with Medical Value Access Liaisons to conduct collaborative customer HEOR and RWE studies and projects
  • Deliver economic modeling, value dossiers, RWE pathways integration, and budget impact analyses for payers and formulary decision-makers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and deliver research and analytics services for the market segment
  • Utilize customer and patient insights to inform the Company's HEOR and RWE study designs
  • Perform data assessments for RWE data partners
  • Execute data science methods to conduct RWE studies where in-house data becomes available
  • Share expertise with internal stakeholders for training and interpretation of key scientific data to support decisions of corporatized providers/decision-makers
  • Develop and maintain HEOR sections of Global Value Dossiers (GVDs), Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) dossiers, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions ensuring alignment with access strategies
  • Manage external vendors and consultants to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables that meet internal and external stakeholder needs
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging trends in health economics, policy changes, and RWE methodologies to shape HEOR strategy

  • Strong knowledge of research-grade HEOR and RWE study design and contributing data assets
  • Expertise in understanding the evolving US health care and managed care landscape, as well as principles of HEOR

Experience

  • Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, NP, PA) in health economics, data sciences, or related field required; Scientific and analytics dual degrees are a plus (e.g., PharmD plus business analytics or artificial intelligence)
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a relevant role, such as within managed care, the pharmaceutical industry, or consulting with both study design and applying advanced analytics with real world data

Salary Statement:

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.

General Salary Range: $165,000 to $185,000
