Solutions Consultant - MSP Focus (Remote)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Consultant to support our MSP-aligned sales teams across the U.S. This remote role is part of our pre-sales organization and plays a critical part in technical sales enablement, partner success, and solution evangelism.

The right candidate will bring technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously while partnering closely with sales, product, and channel organizations. This role requires up to 50% travel to support MSP events, partner trainings, conferences, and other field activities. Travel is an integral but well-balanced part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pre-sales engagements primarily aligned with our MSP partners.
  • Lead product demonstrations, technical evaluations, and proof-of-concept efforts.
  • Educate and enable MSP partners on OpenText Cybersecurity solutions.
  • Articulate the business and technical value of data protection, data security, and data compliance solutions.
  • Gather partner and customer requirements and help shape deal strategy.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure technical alignment and successful opportunity closure.
  • Participate in trade shows, webinars, and field marketing activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pre-sales technical issues.
  • Act as a subject matter expert across multiple OpenText Cybersecurity product lines.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or solutions consulting role.
  • Proven success supporting MSP or channel-focused sales environments.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity concepts:
    - Endpoint security, antivirus, and threat detection
    - Endpoint backup
    - Server based backup and disaster recovery
    - Public cloud platforms
    - Microsoft Windows OS, macOS, networking (DNS, VPNs, firewalls)
    - Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), SaaS solutions
    - Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
  • Excellent presentation, public speaking, and partner enablement skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with RMMs, PSA tools, or IT service management platforms is a plus.
  • Exposure to compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, NIST) preferred.
  • Previous experience with large product portfolios or solution suites is valuable.
