Senior Proposal Writer works within a deal pursuit team under a Proposal Lead to complete written proposal responses (RFPs, RFIs, etc.) as requested by external customers. Activities include creating new response material, as well as using standard collateral from a proposal library and customizing that material to address specific customer requirements. The primary objective of the proposal specialist is to create a comprehensive proposal response in support of the sales process, from presales to contract signing. Collaboration with Itron enterprise-wide technical, pricing, services and commercial experts is required to ensure consistent, relevant, and high-quality responses.

This position reports to the Proposals Manager (Shared Services Deal Desk) in the execution of these duties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for contributing to the submission of external customer responses: RFI, RFPs, ITT, EOI, etc. based on the defined solution and win strategy.

• Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs); attending strategy meetings.

• Collaborates with bid response teams to determine concept responses, gather and format information, write drafts, and obtain approvals for responses.

• Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.

• Leverages existing standard material to complete responses using existing baseline responses, including corporate information, compliance documentation and standard collateral.

• Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.

• Writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.

• Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding (as well as coordinating printing).

• Maintains quality results by using templates;

• Follows proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone.

• Maintains proposal support databases.

• Edits and reviews new content creation from SMEs (tech sales, product managers, delivery resources, operations resources)

• Contributes to process improvement initiatives and improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes and boilerplate content.

• Ensures quality and consistency of the end-product deliverable sent to customers: language, formatting, and consistency with end-customer requests.

• Contributes to a collaborative response framework and tracks document to ensure the timely compliant submission of responses.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintains personal networks.

• Contributes to the extension of the Proposal Resource Centre by adding new collaterals derived from responses.

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Physical Demands: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

Liberty Lake, WA: The base salary is $75,000 - $141,000.
