Job Title: Software Development Supervisor

Location: Multiple Locations (Lockport, LA; Metairie, LA; Mandeville, LA & Pascagoula, MS) - Hybrid Schedule Available

Overview Position

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Supervisor to lead a team of developers in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support business objectives. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role requires a strong technical background, team leadership, and project management expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Direct and coordinate the daily operations of the software development team.
• Software Design & Implementation: Oversee the development and enhancement of applications, including updates to legacy systems.
• Project Management: Lead software projects through all phases-planning, execution, monitoring, and closure-ensuring alignment with timelines and budgets.
• Technical Guidance: Serve as a resource for team members on development standards, tools, and best practices.
• Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders and internal teams to define technical approaches and project goals.
• Tracking & Reporting: Manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and status reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
• User Support & Training: Develop user documentation and conduct training sessions on new or updated systems.
• Process Improvement: Customize project and development processes to meet project-specific needs.
• Customer Engagement: Communicate with internal and external clients regarding requirements, expectations, and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience:




• 5+ years in a technology environment, including 2-3 years in software development and project leadership.
• Hands-on experience with web-based development, systems integration, and business applications like payroll, HR, and accounting.
• Proficient in MS SQL, PowerBuilder (or equivalent), and Microsoft Office tools.
• Proven success managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.

• Programming Expertise: Strong knowledge of modern programming languages, software design principles, and debugging practices.
• Software Development: Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code tailored to user and business needs.

• Cost Estimation: Capable of creating accurate project cost estimates and resource plans.
