Job Details

This role is in support of American Health Packaging, a Cencora business offering pharma packaging services in the US.

The Inside Sales Specialist will develop, maintain, and implement long-term business partnerships with assigned customers, including but not limited to sales calls and communications to support incremental business growth through new products, contract compliance, and customized strategic account programs. This position will work in tandem with American Health Packaging (AHP) Strategic Account Managers (field sales) within the designated regions to strategically complement and maximize AHP's exposure to the institutional healthcare marketplace.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acting as primary customer contact for AHP, executes the implementation of programs within specific geographic area (Western US States) and/or account base to maximize pull-through and distribution of products while minimizing service level related issues
  • Initiates proactive calls to AHP customer base to grow sales revenue and enhance customer relationships
  • Independently conducts pre- and post-call research and planning to set goals for the call and anticipates customer needs.
  • Meets or exceeds monthly sales/activity goals established in conjunction with manager. This may include, but is not limited to, call volume and revenue/margin.
  • Develops a deep understanding of customer needs through dialogue; develops competitive knowledge at both the overall market and the specific customer levels
  • Demonstrates meticulous follow-through when interacting with customers, tailoring sales messages to meet the customer's needs, and continuous follow-ups to capture additional business and revenue opportunities.
  • Continually maintains and inputs account activity as well as keeping customer and contact data current/results information and tracks interactions in the CRM (salesforce.com) and other appropriate sales management tools
  • Partners with AHP Strategic Account Mangers and National Accounts team by engaging and working directly and collaboratively to assist in product access and new product launch details assigned customers could benefit from, as well as team-focused strategies to maximize sales potential within AHP-designated strategic hospital and/or institutional systems.
  • Generates ideas for future call/customer touch activities.
  • Monitors and analyzes reports and data to measure the profitability growth of AHP products; develops and implements strategies to ensure the continued success of that growth.
  • Participates in internal company meetings as necessary.
  • Reviews/monitors internal product reports to be knowledgeable of product supply.
  • Performs other related duties and administrative tasks as assigned.

The salary range listed below does not include potential commission/bonus.

Education and Experience:

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, sales, marketing, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Normally requires a minimum of three (3) years directly related and progressively responsible experience. Previous generic pharmaceutical/commodity sales experience is preferred.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
