The Service Engineer III will troubleshoot and repair Sony professional video product including Broadcast equipment, ENG video cameras and Professional Broadcast monitors. This role should be able to diagnose,repair, configure, upgrade and test Sony products as required. Proficient in using electronic testingequipment, including waveform signal monitors and oscilloscopes to effectively diagnose andtroubleshoot technical issues.

Job Duties:

  • Diagnose, evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast and professional electronic equipment at the service depot location.
  • Configure and troubleshoot advanced broadcast and professional video cameras and control systems.
  • Perform repairs per manufacturer standards, including software updates as necessary, functional improvements, and modifications.
  • Provide in-warranty, out-of-warranty repair quotations, and maintaining accurate work order records with diagnostic findings and QA results.
  • Train and/or assist junior technicians with repairs.
  • Ensure alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as: MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), CR90 (Comeback Ratio within 90 Days), TAT (Turnaround Time)
  • Maintain clear, detailed, and up-to-date work order notes for internal tracking and customer communication regarding repair status.

Qualifications:

  • 2 year Associates degree in electronics. BS degree in electronics preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' service and support experience in the Broadcast and Professional industry.
  • Demonstrated prior experience in similar role and/or repairing similar products.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite. SAP system knowledge preferred.
  • Should be able to be work independently to resolve complex repair issues.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Must abide by ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Expertise in problem-solving and troubleshooting standalone products and integrated systems.
  • Skilled in using advanced test equipment for measuring and troubleshooting systems
  • Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuits, including component-level fault diagnosis.
  • Proficient soldering and repair skills for surface-mount devices on high-density circuit boards.
  • In-depth understanding of broadcast and industry signal standards, signal flow, and workflows.

Experience:

  • Experience with camera OHB block RPN concealment process.
  • Proficient in using electronic testingequipment, including waveform signal monitors and oscilloscopes to effectively diagnose andtroubleshoot technical issues.
