The Communications Specialist supports the work of a regional health care communications team. This position plays a key tactical role in helping deliver clear, consistent, and timely communications aligned with MaineHealth's system-wide strategy and brand standards.

Working with the Communications Manager and regional directors, the Communications Specialist assists with day-to-day activities including social media scheduling and content development, newsletter production and distribution, and basic writing and editing projects. The role also supports administrative and operational functions such as invoice processing, maintaining editorial calendars, and coordinating communications requests.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented communicator who wants to build hands-on experience in healthcare marketing and communications while contributing to meaningful work that supports patients, care team members, and the broader community.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree required, with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: One year of progressive experience in marketing, planning, communications, public relations, market research, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience in a healthcare setting required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Strong written and oral communication skills.
