Job Summary As a Manufacturing Technical Trainer reporting to the Extrusion Manager, you will play a key role in providing essential instruction to new manufacturing employees within our manufacturing plant. Primary responsibilities include preparing, conducting, and maintaining employee training programs to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable workforce. This role contributes to the evaluation and training of new team members by assessing and enhancing the proficiency of existing employees in alignment with established processes and procedures, along with documentation of training activities. Serving as a subject matter expert, you will be a resource for manufacturing employees, fostering excellence in manufacturing operations at HellermannTyton. Additionally, this role includes cultivating the training environment, materials, and content while upholding consistency and adhering to quality and environmental standards." Essential Functions
- Lead comprehensive training sessions for new hires and ongoing employees, fostering continuous improvement and optimal execution of manufacturing processes.
- Administer training coordination, from planning to facilitation, ensuring seamless manufacturing training sessions.
- Monitor manufacturing employee performance, ensuring adherence to established standard operating procedures.
- Communicate training progress and outcomes to management, offering insights into training effectiveness.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to support training initiatives.
- Evaluate employee performance during training, providing recommendations for future assignments.
- Engage with management to identify present and future personnel requirements for manufacturing departments.
- Uphold corporate standards and protocols during training sessions.
- Ensure manufacturing employees are prepared for internal and external audits.
Other Functions
- Manage time and attendance records, maintain training logs, deliver feedback, provide motivation, and oversee disciplinary actions within assigned department(s).
- Actively participate in the corrective action committee.
- Offer production floor support as needed, assisting with troubleshooting and processing.
- Contribute to process optimization and maintenance of records.
- Collaborate with support departments to achieve efficiency goals.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Success in this role will require
- Proficiency in leading, motivating, and training team members.
- Familiarity with IATF16949/ISO14001 systems.
- Skillful utilization of reports to enhance production and employee awareness of their impact on company success.
- Competence in navigating software applications.
- Forklift certification from HellermannTyton.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Advanced knowledge of plastic injection molding preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and appropriate auto insurance.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Solid mechanical aptitude.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours if necessary.
- Ability to inspect production for quality defects.
- Prior forklift experience is a plus.
