Location: This position is based full-time on-site in Newburyport, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).

Summary:

Assists with set-up and operates a variety of machine shop machines such as cut-off saw, band saw, drill press, surface grinder, milling machine, and lathes to perform progressive machining operations for apparatus or equipment with close tolerances. Cuts material stock. Cleans equipment as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with set-up, maintenance and machining of molds and associated parts to meet specifications.
  • Works with hand tools to measure parts against blueprints.
  • Sets up vises prior to use.
  • Assists with cutting tool setup.
  • Responsible for cutting stock.
  • Completes Bridgeport work as needed.
  • Ensures work is clean and complete to specifications.
  • Performs plant tooling maintenance procedures.
  • Adheres to safety policies and practices.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualification Requirements :
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Experience with machine measuring tools such as vernier, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures desired.
  • Basic milling experience is a plus.
