Decision Technologies seeks a qualified Engineering Drawing Management Specialist to join our team in Port Hueneme, CA.

Position Description: Provide Engineering Drawing Management Support for the following programs: Aegis, Vertical Launching System, Over the Horizon, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and NATO Seasparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS). Provide System support for TM Production: FrameMaker, S1000D, Contenta, Quicksilver, Adobe; For Drawing Support: legacy Naval Ships Engineering Drawing Repository (currently being transitioned to Model Based Product Support). Duty location is NSWC PHD Onsite (CA).

MUST HAVE Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide engineering drawing and graphics development, editing, conversion, and management services.
  • Support uploading engineering drawing documents to the Naval Ship Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR) and the Model Based Product Support (MBPS) system.
  • Provide engineering drawing support for various programs upon request, including responding to individual drawing requests, answering Help Desk requests, and providing support (general questions, corrections, etc.) to department users.
  • Review and verify engineering drawing packages, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Research OEM and government databases (such as NSEDR, NATEC, MEDALS) to locate drawing documents and ensure latest revisions on record.
  • Resolve engineering drawing metadata errors or discrepancies.
  • Support the NSEDR/MBPS transition (testing, rehearsals, working groups).
  • Compile and provide engineering drawings as requested, including producing digital storage media (such as CDs) containing engineering drawings.
  • Perform meeting management support to include coordinating meetings, preparing presentation material documenting proceedings, and completing action items and assignments resulting from these meetings
  • Participate in various working groups and integrated product teams (IPTs) dedicated to the development and support of logistic products.
  • Support, coordinate, and interface with NSWC PHD, other Government activities, and various Contractor offices for meetings, program schedules, milestones, and product deliveries.
  • Attend TM production and TM management meetings and provide logistics management expertise in the development, management, training, and implementation of TM production and management requirements.
  • Develop materials to document the TM production and management processes and requirements.
  • Provide expertise and make recommendations regarding TM production and management process implementation and support TM production and management performance requirements.
  • Provide written minutes of meetings to management.
  • Attend Model Based Product Support (MBPS) meetings and provide expertise in the development, management, training, and implementation of TM production and management requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement activities and other efficiency efforts affecting the cost, schedule, and performance of TM production products and services.
  • Identify products and process change candidates to improve TM product accuracy, usability, and interoperability.
  • Provide Electronic Technical Manual (ETM) production assessments and recommendations, including for the use of S1000D.
  • Support S1000D, FrameMaker, Quicksilver implementation, production, and management and provide TM production and management expertise in the development, management, training, and implementation of requirements.
  • Perform ETM development and redline incorporation in DON and NSWC PHD approved applications and environments.
  • Convert legacy TM content to current DON and NSWC PHD approved applications and environments.
  • Develop proposed schedules and document development plans that are agreed to by the Government prior to initiating documentation production efforts.
  • Perform desktop reviews and in-process reviews (IPRs), verification/validation reviews, and quality assurance reviews of ETMs and/or source data in accordance with NAVSEA requirements.
  • Perform reviews of SGML/XML data, standards, guidance/direction, processes, and correspondence.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Training and experience with FrameMaker, S1000D, Contenta, Quicksilver, Adobe

Desired Qualifications:

  • Engineering Drawing Management experience with Aegis, VLS, OTH, LCS, NSSMS
