- Physical- capable of lifting 50 lbs. safely

- Knowledge- must understand and comprehend electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics. Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment as well as maintain industrial buildings.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring all machinery, equipment, and facilities are operating safely and efficiently. Responsible for completing performance evaluations, wage increase recommendations, and appropriate disciplinary actions. Responsible for training; including documentation of all employees within department, to ensure the department has the tools and resources to work safely, eliminate hazardous conditions, while meeting deadlines and following company procedures. Responsible for gaining necessary permits for work to be performed. Authorized to prepare and order maintenance supply items and engage with vendors as required.

- Ensure all employees work safely and all hazardous conditions are eliminated.
- Supervise, schedule work and set priorities for maintenance technicians and external contractors.
- Develop, implement, schedule, and manage preventative maintenance program for equipment and facilities to ensure time execution.
- Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done in the department.
- Ensure that the building is kept clean and the grounds are properly maintained.
- Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
- Evaluate workload and shop load of maintenance team.
- Ensure maintenance related inventory is maintained and available for PM and other maintenance work
- Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
- Ensure effective training of the maintenance team
- Administer LOTO training for authorized employees and support LOTO for affected employees.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures per ISO procedures. Including scheduled inspections of belts, fluid levels, replace filters, grease bearings, seals, etc.; repair or replace broken parts.
- Develop and report metrics associated with the maintenance department's performance
- Assist with the implementation of fire and safety procedures, conduct fire drills, verify that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are operational.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Working knowledge of routine, extensive, and preventive maintenance for buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Organization and project management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
