POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Systems Manager will play a key role in managing and optimizing the core platforms that support our day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for driving the integration, consolidation, and enhancement of systems such as ERP, MES, CRM, and accounting tools. The goal is to streamline business processes, eliminate silos, and ensure our systems can support future growth. The Business Systems Manager will work closely with teams across Operations, Finance, Engineering, and IT to align technology with business needs and promote consistent processes across the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead company-wide ERP migration and business systems consolidation initiatives
- Act as the internal expert for critical platforms, including ERP, MES, CRM, and accounting systems
- Analyze current workflows to identify gaps and recommend process and system improvements
- Design and implement integrated, scalable solutions that support operational and strategic objectives
- Collaborate with business leaders to gather requirements, shape solutions, and drive user adoption
- Oversee external vendors, consultants, and implementation partners to ensure successful deployments
- Establish and maintain system governance, documentation practices, and change control protocols
- Monitor system health, usage, and data quality while leading continuous improvement efforts
- Other duties as assigned
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- ERP Systems Expertise: Deep understanding of ERP platforms including configuration, reporting, and process integration
- Business Process Mapping: Skilled in documenting, analyzing, and optimizing workflows across operations, finance, and operations
- Systems Integration: Experience integrating ERP with MES, CRM, accounting, and other business systems through APIs, middleware, or native connectors
- Data Management & Reporting: Familiar with relational databases, data governance principles, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Crystal Reports)
- Project Management: Ability to lead system implementation and upgrade projects using structured methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches)
- Vendor Management: Experienced in evaluating, selecting, and managing third-party providers and consultants
- System Administration: Working knowledge of user roles, permissions, audit logs, and security settings for business platforms

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field desired
- 5+ years of experience managing ERP or business system implementations, upgrades, or optimizations
- Proven track record leading cross-functional system projects in manufacturing, operations, or finance environments
- Experience with platforms such as Epicor, NetSuite, SAP, Salesforce, QuickBooks, or similar enterprise systems
- Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL), and workflow automation preferred
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, CBAP, or ERP-specific credentials) a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates in a professional office environment and may include periodic remote work
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
WORK HOURS/TRAVEL
- Standard business hours with occasional evening or weekend work during system implementations or critical deployments
- Travel up to 10-20%, primarily to company sites or vendor locations for system implementation, training, or support
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during system go-lives, upgrades, or critical project milestones
