JOB DESCRIPTION Summary: Support the plant and customer through effective management of new programs, plant projects and implementation of improvement and cost reduction suggestions. Develop assembly, process, fixturing and equipment to ensure high quality and cost-effective production. Assure design changes are implemented in a timely cost-effective manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to Engineering and Maintenance team for automotive seat and overhead system manufacturing.
- Responsible for providing direct interface to customers, suppliers and product engineering organization, specially focused on Seat Assembly, Overhead system assembly.
- Work closely with lean manufacturing teams to update key process indicators such as: Quick Tool Change, Tool performance, OEE., Jobs per hour, Lean Manufacturing Implementation. Line balance charts
- Support plant safety programs by ensuring that engineering support is involved with the implementation into the manufacturing processes.
- Manage the quoting and implementation of product design changes.
- Support identification, implementation and verification of continuous improvement activities.
- Establish/evaluate internal integration plans by completing make vs. buy plans and present proposals.
- Develop appropriate production technologies and methods according to business needs.
- Plan resources and budget to achieve profit plan goals for fiscal year.
Environmental, Health & Safety:
- Support the protection of the environment, personal safety, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.
- Providing leadership to Engineering team in preventing accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards. This includes continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions.
- Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded as related to Engineering team
- Within scope of responsibilities assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis
- Assisting in the investigation of accidents.
- Having the authority to: Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area
- Ability to participate in investigation of near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred
- Ensure that all department related incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner

- B.S. Degree in Engineering or a related field (i.e. mechanical, industrial, manufacturing).
- Preferably five years automotive experience.
- Experience with launches
- CI Experience
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Must be familiar with appropriate software programs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals (i.e. hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic schematics).
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
