We are currently seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to support the Department of Defense (DoD)'s Infrastructure Line of Business (IFLOB) mission. This on-site role will be integral in implementing, sustaining, and optimizing hybrid cloud infrastructure for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Automation:

  • Design and implement infrastructure automation solutions using Python, YAML, and other relevant tools.
  • Develop automated scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of network operations.
  • Integrate automation solutions with existing systems to enhance operational workflows and reduce manual effort.


Performance Optimization:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of current network infrastructure to identify automation opportunities.
  • Utilize automation to monitor, assess, and improve network performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Perform regular network audits and implement changes to maintain DoD compliance and standards.


Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure automated systems meet FISMA, NIST, RMF, and DISA guidelines.
  • Develop automated processes for patch management, security monitoring, and compliance validation.


Documentation & Reporting:

  • Produce and maintain detailed documentation including design documents, user manuals, and process guides.
  • Contribute to required deliverables: Task Order Management Plans, Daily/Weekly/Monthly Status Reports.


Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across various Lines of Business (LOBs) to align automation strategies with organizational goals.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to network staff in the use of automation tools.



Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • IAT Level II Certification (DoD 8140 Compliant)
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies
  • Proficiency in Python and YAML
  • Experience with DoD compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST, RMF, etc.)
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions in a secure enterprise environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Onsite availability.
