We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) Infrastructure Line of Business (IFLOB) mission, focusing on engineering, sustaining, and optimizing hybrid cloud infrastructures.

The Infrastructure Engineer will provide advanced network and infrastructure engineering support to IFLOB's hybrid cloud and data center environments. This role will support over 1,100 deployed solutions and 3,500 devices across multiple classifications worldwide. The successful candidate will support engineering activities both CONUS and OCONUS and must be comfortable working across physical and virtual environments including x86, IBM zOS Mainframes, Unisys, SPARC-based Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design & Optimization

  • Design network solutions to meet performance, security, and scalability needs.
  • Evaluate existing network infrastructures and develop modernization or upgrade plans.
  • Perform regular network capacity assessments and optimize for performance and reliability.



Documentation & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, policies, and configuration guides.
  • Ensure compliance with DISA, DoD, US Cyber Command (USCC), and JFHQ-DODIN standards.
  • Submit all technical documentation to government stakeholders for review and approval.



Technology Evaluation & Integration

  • Research and assess emerging technologies (e.g., SD-WAN, 5G, IoT) for mission suitability.
  • Develop secure implementation strategies and perform risk assessments for new technologies.
  • Support pilot and prototype efforts by designing infrastructure for experimental systems.



Client Solution Engineering

  • Gather and analyze client infrastructure needs.
  • Design customized solutions for hosted applications and mission systems.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and project managers for solution delivery.



Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor government-directed project management systems for updates and assignments.
  • Ensure project timelines, dependencies, and risks are reported and briefed to leadership.
  • Participate in high-level briefings to maintain situational awareness of mission priorities.



Infrastructure Tools Engineering

  • Define requirements for infrastructure automation and monitoring tools.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain infrastructure management toolsets.
  • Ensure tool integration with existing workflows while maintaining security and performance compliance.



Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Meets IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure/network engineering, preferably in DoD environments
  • Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures, virtualization, and data center operations
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, NIST, FISMA, RMF, and other DoD compliance frameworks
  • Proficiency in network design tools and scripting for automation (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell)



Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal government clients
  • Working knowledge of SD-WAN, 5G, IoT, and secure network architecture principles
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and configuration management tools
  • Ability to translate complex infrastructure requirements into actionable solutions
