Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek. Probationary period will not apply to shift changes.
Reporting directly to the Director of Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Service, and indirectly to the Division Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology , this position, in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers, will be responsible for the planning, evaluation, coordination, implementation and facilitation of all facets of care for pediatric patients and families undergoing the process of blood and/or marrow transplantation. Demonstrates advanced and diverse clinical knowledge and skills in the capacity of a clinician, educator, collaborator and patient advocate in order to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a semi-autonomous, self-directed role in accordance with professional practice standards and clinical expertise. Will provide direct patient care in an in-patient and out-patient setting.
Bachelor's Degree Required.
Master's Degree from a Accredited PA program (accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) preferred.
Current Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician's Assistants Current American Board of Transplant Coordinators Certification after one year of practical experience preferred
Certification by the PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT NATIONAL CERTIFICATION BOARD
