Job Description

Overview

The Occupational Health Nurse assiduously manages the health and welfare of Amerex by proactively caring for team members, promoting Amerex as a premier place to work.

Responsibilities

  • Sustainability: 100% compliance on Medical Surveillance.
  • Customer Experience: Accurate medical charting according to OSHA record keeping standards.
  • Team Member Experience: Complete 4 health & wellness initiatives per year.
  • Compliance: Maintains professional licenses and remains current on occupational health matters.
  • Team Member Wellness (68%): Maximize team member productivity by cultivating and fostering trusting relationships with team members amongst the organization to accurately assess the well-being of the workforce and connect themwith the needed resources to improve their health. Effectively decrease disability claims, on-the-job injuries, scheduling follow-up care, and actively educating team members on their diagnosis. Monitors and reviews post-offer physical exams, including drug testing program. Regularlyperform health audits/ assessments and SEG's to guarantee compliance with OSHA and government regulations including but not limited to, annual hearingtest, and random drug screens.
  • Records Management (20%): Actively partner with the Human Resources team to ensure accurate and timely onboarding of new team members by diligentlycreating and maintaining all medical records/profiles. Maintains medical and health records including workers compensation and prepares accident reports and insurance forms for workers compensation. Accurately chart/log all incident investigations, medical finding, SEG results, and related visit updates in team member files as well as Cority. Diligently perform/maintain regular checks on all AED, trauma bags, First-aid kits, and PPE pertainingto nursing and accuratelyrecord all information.
  • Health & Wellness Strategy (10%): Assess the medical surveillance needs of the workforce and develop, implement, and monitor onsite wellness programs that enhance the team members' well-being at Amerex. Cultivate trusting associations among the organization to cohesively schedule/perform all SEG (Similar Exposure Groups) testing to ensure the safety and well-being of the workforce. Plan, communicate, and execute mock codes and PEO triage training to enhancemedical knowledge among the organization.
  • Advisory (2%): Proactively seek ways to enhance the medical safety knowledge among Amerex and assist supervisors/safety committees with conducting risk assessments. Partner with the Benefits manager to coordinate health and wellness promotion campaigns and activities to foster a trusting assist supervisors/safety committees with conducting risk assessments. Advise team members on wellness standards and tactfully assist supervisors in enforcementof standards. Serve as a medical advisor to committees including but not limited to MRT (teaching the team CPR), Ergonomics, PEO, VPOP, and Wellness.
Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office Suites & SharePoint knowledge a plus
  • Strong written, organization and verbal communication skills
  • Record Management experience
  • Cority knowledge a plus
  • Registered Nursing Degree & Alabama Nursing License Required
  • 3-5 years practical nursing experience
  • Work experience as Occupational Health Nurse preferred
  • CPR and First Aide Certification required
  • OSHA regulations and documentation knowledge preferred
  • Job location is Trussville, Alabama. Infrequent travel is required.
