JOB SUMMARY The Lead Wealth Client Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the most complex multi-asset investment portfolios, including equity and fixed income, for institutional and high-net-worth clients. This position plays a critical role in shaping and executing the bank's overarching investment strategy while serving as a key representative for the firm in high-stakes client and industry engagements. The job provides mentorship to junior team members, develops new business opportunities, and maintains a deep understanding of market trends and regulatory landscapes to drive client success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the bank's most complex and high-value investment portfolios for institutional and high-net-worth clients. Develop and execute sophisticated investment strategies tailored to unique client objectives. Conduct comprehensive market analysis and apply advanced research techniques to ensure sound investment decisions. Initiate and close new business opportunities while cultivating long-term relationships with high-net-worth clients. Act as a strategic advisor to clients, offering insights on financial goals, legal and tax implications, and portfolio performance. Contribute to the development and refinement of the bank's overall investment philosophy and strategy. Communicate investment tactics, market insights, and firm initiatives to clients and stakeholders. Serve as a key voice in organizational strategy discussions, providing insights into client needs and market trends. Mentor and guide junior and senior portfolio managers, fostering professional development and best practices. Lead by example in demonstrating high standards of client service, investment expertise, and regulatory compliance. Maintain a deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and trust-related services. Stay current on regulatory changes and ensure all investment activities align with compliance standards.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. A combination of relevant education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in investment portfolio management or financial analysis, with a proven track record of success in managing complex portfolios and client relationships. Advanced knowledge of multi-asset portfolio management, financial markets, and trust services. Strong understanding of banking and investment regulations. Exceptional analytical, strategic, and communication skills. Advanced expertise in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, with experience utilizing portfolio management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar). Demonstrated ability to lead high-level client engagements and drive business development. Proven track record of influencing firm strategy and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines. Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
