The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily shipping and receiving operations. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant processing of shipments and fulfillment activities, while actively troubleshooting issues and supporting cross-departmental communication. The Lead also plays a key role in mentoring team members and maintaining efficient workflows to meet service level goals. - Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and fulfillment operations to ensure efficient and timely processing of all outbound and inbound logistics activities.
- Provide direction and assign tasks to team members, facilitating training and development to maintain a high-performing shipping department.
- Ensure compliance with established service level agreements (SLAs), quality standards, and departmental goals.
- Investigate and resolve order discrepancies, system errors, and shipment issues in coordination with cross-functional teams, including IT, QAD, Inventory Control, and Customer Care.
- Monitor departmental workflow and resource allocation; proactively identify and mitigate process bottlenecks to maintain operational continuity.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and labels in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
- Plan and schedule domestic and international shipments while ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, carrier requirements, and export documentation standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders regarding shipment tracking, delays, and delivery exceptions.
- Track and consolidate shipments, particularly for digital fulfillment orders, ensuring proper
- handling and timely dispatch.
- Execute order fulfillment processes including picking, packing, labeling, and shipment preparation in accordance with product specifications and SOPs.
- Enter and audit shipping and order data in the ERP system (QAD) and carrier platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS), ensuring transactional accuracy.
- Supervise packing processes to confirm compliance with packaging guidelines, minimizing damage and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external shipment inquiries, offering resolutions and updates as needed.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of international shipping documentation in collaboration with Customer Care and regulatory teams.
- Assist with inventory replenishment and organization using the Kanban system; contribute to inventory accuracy through periodic cycle counts.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in alignment with company safety protocols and 7S standards.
- Adhere to all relevant standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements including cGMP, ISO 13485, and 21CFR Part 820
What does it take to be successful:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of shipping and receiving experience required.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a minimum of one year of driving experience.
- Minimum of one year of forklift operation experience required; must hold current and valid forklift certification.
- Familiarity with QAD ERP and various shipping systems (FedEx, UPS, DHL, AES, etc.).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete additional responsibilities.
- Attention to detail and quality focused.
- Must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the position, including lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.

- procedures and completing on-the-job training.
