Job Description

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a foundation in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or computer science who are eager to gain hands-on experience testing and evaluating secure systems in support of national security or enterprise IT missions.

Key Responsibilities




  • Assist in the design, development, and execution of test plans and procedures to assess cybersecurity posture and system functionality.



  • Collaborate with senior engineers to conduct vulnerability assessments, security testing, and system evaluations.



  • Execute tests in Linux/Unix-based environments, troubleshoot issues, and document results.



  • Support the automation of test processes using scripting languages such as Python or Bash.



  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines and Docker containers to streamline deployment and testing workflows.



  • Work with source control systems like Git for version control and collaboration.



  • Analyze test data, identify anomalies, and assist with root cause analysis.



  • Participate in Agile development environments and contribute to improving overall test coverage and effectiveness.




Qualifications



  • Active Security Clearance required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.



  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and system-level testing.



  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.



  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments using Docker.



  • Basic proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.



  • Hands-on experience with Git and collaborative software development tools.



  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, vulnerabilities, and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, STIGs).



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.




Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience designing, writing, reviewing, and executing test plans.



  • Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, Nessus, Nmap, Burp Suite, or similar.



  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or related.



  • Exposure to DevSecOps or Agile development environments.
