Wieland is hiring a Materials Coordinator. The Materials Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the handling of circuit boards and related electronic scrap. This critical role is responsible for ensuring maximum material recovery value through precise processing, classification, and inventory practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in material grading, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of electronic scrap value drivers. This position reports directly to the Senior Trader and plays a key role in material readiness for sale, quality control, and team training. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site.

Hourly Pay Range: $23 - $26/hr

Work Schedule: 7 am - 3:30 pm Mon - Fri

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Responsibilities

Materials Coordinator Responsibilities:

1. Processing & Sortation of Medium to High Grade Circuit Boards:

    Process circuit boards to maximize material value.
  • Accurately sort circuit boards into predefined categories and grades.
  • Identify and segregate other electronic scrap materials containing circuit boards for value recovery.

2. Inventory & Material Management:

  • Organize and manage circuit board inventory for efficient work-flow and storage.
  • Notify and report to the Electronics Commercial Manager when material is ready for sale.
  • Perform quality checkpoints to ensure all materials conform to internal specifications.

3. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

  • Work alongside the shipping and receiving team to identify, grade, and receive incoming material properly.
  • Aid and support operations team with the identification and capturing of value from mixed loads and non-typical scrap inputs.

4. Sort & Settle Operations:

  • Lead and execute "sort and settle" procedures for mixed-grade circuit boards.
  • Provide clear photo documentation and written reports to the Commercial team post sortation.

Materials Coordinator Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in electronic scrap processing, materials grading, or similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit board types, electronic scrap value tiers, and grading criteria.
  • Proven ability to lead and train team members.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in basic documentation and reporting (written, photographic).
  • Must be able to lift and move materials as required.
  • Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
  • Maintains safety as high priority in all aspects of responsibility.
  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with R2, e-Stewards, or other recycling industry standards.
  • OSHA or industry safety training certifications.

  • Ability to stand, balance, walk, and reach for extended periods.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Sit for extended period of times.
  • Stand for extended periods, walk and reach with hands or arms.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, touch or manipulate items.
  • Stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and walk while handling cases of product.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
