Position: Software Developer - 3D Surgical Modeling We're looking for a highly skilled and passionate Software Developer to lead the development of digital modeling tools that power our personalized spine surgery platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of computational geometry, surgical simulation, and high-impact medical software. What You'll Build * 3D Geometry Processing & Modeling * Tools for manipulating CT-derived anatomical models (segmentation, smoothing, alignment) * Boolean operations, implant simulation, and model fusion using CAD kernels like OpenCascade * Regional anatomical measurements (e.g., vertebral height, curvature, alignment) * Mesh simplification and surface quality enhancement * Parametric Modeling & Implant Simulation * Parameter-driven models that simulate implant effects on spinal anatomy * Integration of implant data from STEP-based sources like Onshape * Visualization & Interaction * Web-based 3D interfaces using Three.js, Babylon.js, or vtk.js * Intuitive UX for surgical planning workflows * Clinical Data Integration & Platform Engineering * DICOM-to-STL/STEP pipelines and data integrity across modeling workflows * Performance optimization for large-scale anatomical datasets (browser + server) What You Bring * Deep experience in 3D modeling, geometry processing, or CAD/CAM systems * Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js skills * Hands-on with OpenCascade or similar CAD kernels * Familiarity with WebAssembly, Emscripten, and JSWASM memory management * Solid math foundation in 3D geometry and spatial transformations * Experience with WebGL-based visualization frameworks * Bonus: Knowledge of DICOM, STL, or segmentation workflows * Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Geometry, or related field * 5+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in 3D modeling or computational geometry * Experience with CAD, simulation, or surgical planning platforms * Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration * Passion for building tools that advance personalized medicine *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
