The Opportunity

Are you a strategic and highly proactive professional? Look no further! The CAO organization is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Director to lead our Revenue Accounting and Operations (RAO) team, reporting to our Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller. This role is responsible for our global revenue accounting and operations, including revenue recognition for subscriptions, royalties, and professional services. The successful candidate will set the revenue recognition policy for the company, lead all aspects of revenue accounting and close processes, structure enterprise deals, oversee revenue M&A activities, and manage disclosure and reporting for our 10-Qs and 10-Ks. Additionally, they will ensure the design of financial systems supports correct revenue treatment and oversee product launches.

What you'll do
  • Set the vision and strategy for the RAO organizations managing a team of ~100 individuals
  • Serve as the company primary revenue accounting leader across the end-to-end Global Revenue process
  • Own all relevant SOX risks and controls and partner with internal and external auditors to ensure timely and smooth quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Define and maintain Adobe's global revenue recognition policy. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP governing revenue recognition (e.g. ASC 606)
  • Ensure the end-to-end financial system architecture enables accurate revenue treatment
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to launch new products and services, ensuring the appropriate contractual terms and system configurations are in place to support accurate revenue recognition.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to drive operational excellence, support deal execution, including deal construction, contract review, and royalty reporting, as well as ensure accurate forecasting and reporting through strong modeling and controls
  • Drive innovation by using tools, data, automation and AI to streamline revenue processes
  • Lead all aspects of the financial close processes related to revenue, reconciliations, flux, internal control, compliance, and associated operational activities
  • Encourage and develop a high-performing team by driving leadership growth, operational excellence, and strategic alignment across the organization
What you'll need to succeed

Certified Public Accountant with over 12 years' experience in a leadership role, including tenure at a Big 4 firm. Proven track record in leading large teams in large multi-nationals, preferably within the software/technology industry

  • Deep domain expertise in revenue accounting guidance including complex, multiple-element arrangements which include hybrid on-premises and cloud-hosted offerings
  • Ability to translate deep technical knowledge into actionable insights
  • Extensive expertise in revenue assurance, accounting, royalty management, professional services operations, data management, and revenue systems implementation
  • Strong knowledge of go-to-market processes, including sales cycles and proven experience leading large, cross-functional transformational initiatives across people, process and systems
  • Passionate about business partnership and finding pragmatic solutions to complicated business issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate well in diverse teams. Comfortable in a dynamic setting and able to adjust to shifting demands.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in building and developing high-performing teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $154,900 -- $319,900 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
