The Maintenance Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment within the facility. This includes performing routine cleaning duties, minor repairs, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure the overall cleanliness and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, breakrooms, walls, windows, carpets, furniture, and other surfaces/areas.
  • Perform minor repairs on furniture, equipment, doors, lights, and windows and report major repair needs to supervisor.
  • Act as a point of contact for any building facilities request.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers and other tools, to maintain a clean office, shop, restrooms, and dressing rooms including degreasing floors as needed.
  • Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning according to instructions
  • Clean trash around property including cutting, trimming, and leaf blowing of landscape property as needed, remove snow and ice and maintain outdoor areas.
  • Regularly check supply levels and replenish as needed (such as toilet paper, towels, soap, chemicals, and disinfectants).
  • Empty and dispose trash in dumpsters and/or compactors in a safe and clean manner.
  • Ensure 3rd party custodial and grounds maintenance perform to our standards.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the facility, including locking and unlocking doors and reporting any safety hazards.
  • Other duties as required by supervisor.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
  • Ability to make minor repairs to furniture, equipment, and other items.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and order.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret material safety data sheet and apply basic math skills to mix chemical ingredients.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in written format.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Required travel up to 5%.
