HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The primary responsibilities of the Associate Registrar position is to manage compliance for student athlete certifications, process student petitions for in-state tuition classification, approve and apply out-of-state tuition waivers, and provide guidance to students, parents, faculty, and staff on various registrar policies and procedures. Additionally, this position will oversee the operations of the cross-registration unit, which includes processing cross-registration admission applications, registration, and grades in accordance with the Atlanta Regional Consortium Agreement.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Oversee the petition process for students seeking in-state classification or out-of-state tuition waivers in accordance with the Board of Regents and the State of Georgia's guidelines regarding in-state status for tuition payment purposes. Provide oversight, collection, and review of records for student appeals for in-state classification and meets with the Appeals Committee for final review. Serve as the Tuition Classification Officer for the University and attends annual Tuition Classification meetings and workshops.
  • Oversee the certification process and collaborate with the Department of Athletics to certify student athletes for collegiate sports in accordance with University, NCAA, and Conference rules and regulations. Chair bi-weekly compliance review meetings, prepare, rectify, and distribute reports on athletic compliance. Attend annual NCAA and Sun Belt conferences.
  • Oversee the operations of the cross-registration unit, which includes processing cross-registration admission applications and registrations, and recording faculty grades to the student record in accordance with the Atlanta Regional Consortium Agreement.
  • Supervise the day-to-day performance of staff, monitor employees' productivity, and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Maintain timekeeping and personnel records, hire and train new employees, ensure adherence to legal and HR policies and procedures, and undertake disciplinary actions when necessary. Set performance goals and deadlines that align with the department's plans and vision.
  • Act on all matters in the absence of the Senior Associate Registrar.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in a related field and five years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating a knowledge of registrar-related functions, processes and laws governing student records, tuition classification, and NCAA compliance regulations and guidelines.
  • Must have a working knowledge of integrated student record data systems, such as Ellucian, Banner and other related products.
  • Must have a collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Problem-Solving: Identify issues and develop effective solutions, demonstrating resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles
