- Contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
- Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
- Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
- Understand and employ software development best practices.
- Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
- Research problems discovered by quality assurance or product support teams and develop solutions.
- Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
- Work under the general supervision of a development manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
- Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
- Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
- Experience with large-scale software design and development for industrial simulation;
- Programming experience with C++ 11 or newer and knowledge of C++ standard template library (STL) and template programming;
- Design and implementation of computational numerical methods and mesh generation techniques;
- Object-Oriented programming and data structures and algorithms specific to geometry and meshing;
- Parallel computing using OpenMP;
- Scripting languages: Python 3.0 and MATLAB;
- Software configuration management systems, Git or TFS and Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), Visual Studio
- Additional work location information: This is a flex work opportunity. The applicant must be willing to reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the ANSYS office in Evanston, IL in order to work in the office at least 1-2 days per week.
