Ciena is seeking a Senior IT Financial Operations Analyst who will play a critical role in ensuring IT investments align with business goals, deliver optimal returns, and improve efficiency across the organization. Reporting to the Director of IT Strategy and Governance, you'll collaborate across IT, Finance, and Procurement to analyze data, provide actionable insights, and streamline operations. How You Will Contribute:
Optimize Cloud Spending: Implement and manage Cloud FinOps practices across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI to maximize value and drive cost efficiency. Analyze cloud usage data, develop dashboards, and recommend cost-saving strategies. Drive Financial Operational Efficiency: Manage IT budgets, technology-related expenses, and contracts while proactively identifying opportunities for cost optimization. Ensure Data Accuracy: Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, billing, and cost allocation across the company. Enable Data-Driven Decisions: Provide actionable insights through data analysis, reporting, and development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform strategic decision-making. Streamline Operations: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance IT efficiency and support faster, data-driven business decisions. Support Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and executing the IT strategic plan, including financial models and business cases for projects and initiatives. Continuous Improvement: Document and streamline IT processes, drive process standardization, and identify automation opportunities to improve data quality and reporting accuracy.
The Must Haves:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in IT business operations, FP&A, or accounting. Proven expertise in data analysis and reconciliation, especially with large datasets. Strong understanding of Cloud FinOps principles and practices, including cloud billing and cost optimization. Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Power BI. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail and a strategic mindset. A self-starter who can manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across functional teams.
The Assets:
Experience in managing IT contract renewals and vendor spend analysis. Familiarity with IT metrics, dashboards, and KPI development. Knowledge of automation tools and process improvement methodologies.
Pay Range: The salary range for this position is $88,600 - $141,500 USD #LI-JD
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
