Job Summary The Manager, Premium Audit is responsible for the overall performance of the premium audit function, including defining and executing upon business objectives and goals. This role will oversee and/or manage people managers, individual contributors and third-party resources. Duties and Responsibilities
- Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
- Lead the premium audit function including establishing practices and procedures, SLA's, controls and technology
- Lead the preparation and workflow of all information for the premium audit function to ensure all processes and controls are handled accurately and timely
- Manage work product of audit vendors and/or audit staff
- Ensure the department is meeting established deliverables and SLA's
- Monitor turnaround times of audit completion
- Manage escalated audit disputes or research, respond to and revise (when appropriate) disputed audits
- Report metrics on team operations including results, progress, and status of audits to departmental leadership
- Provide budget related to premium audit receivables and collection
- Respond to underwriter, insured and agency partner requests and questions regarding premium audits
- Direct changes in procedures and workflows
- Interview, select and train new employees
- Track employee performance and provide regular and appropriate feedback
- Provide employee feedback through regular check-ins and writing and delivering performance reviews
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expert knowledge of general business, insurance, and accounting principles
- Expert knowledge of insurance premium audit operations
- Expert knowledge of Excess & Surplus insurance operations
- Expert knowledge in NCCI or other State Bureau premium audit rules and regulations
- Expert knowledge of ISO General Liability rules, manuals, and industry practices
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in making critical decisions
- Ability to effectively delegate authority and tasks and projects

Experience and Education
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
- Minimum seven years of premium audit, accounting/finance or a combination of the two required
- Minimum of three years of experience managing professional or administrative staff required
- Certifications or advanced professional credentials (APA, AINS, CPA, CIA) preferred
