The Fire Protection Department of UVA's Facilities Management is seeking an Emergency Generator Assistant Technician. The incumbent will assist the Emergency Generator Technicians with, diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems in standby and portable generators for commercial, industrial and residential applications. The Emergency Generator Assistant Technician will assist in preparing and maintaining accurate and detailed records of work performed while providing excellent customer service. Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic, and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds, in addition to managing capital construction and renovation for University-owned and leased properties. Compensation: The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00 per hour ($37,440 - $47,840 Annually). This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:
The selected candidate will be required to complete all necessary background checks prior to the start of the position. Physical Demands: The employee must be able to variously sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands-on repetitive tasks (including overhead tasks). The employee must have normal vision and hearing (correctable), and for some areas of employment, color vision and sense of smell.
