The Fire Protection Department of UVA's Facilities Management is seeking an Emergency Generator Technician. Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic, and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds, in addition to managing capital construction and renovation for University-owned and leased properties. Position Summary: Emergency Generator Technicians, perform general mechanical maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of vehicles, motors, equipment, and/or machinery. They perform repairs on both gasoline and diesel engines and may also work on exhaust systems, suspension systems, and related engine and mechanical systems and components. Responsibilities:

Compensation: The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour ($52,000 - $62,400 per year). This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employees benefits package highlights include:
Selected candidates will be required to complete all required background checks and health screens prior to the first day of employment. Physical Demands: Work may be performed by bending into engine compartment, standing for sustained periods of time when a vehicle is on lift equipment. The employee will need to lift and carry parts necessary for vehicle repair and servicing.
