Director Compliance Test & Monitor
The Director, Compliance Testing and Monitoring within the second line of defense is responsible for establishing standards for monitoring and reporting of compliance risks; developing standards for tests and testing plans of compliance risk management activities across the enterprise; executing and reporting second line monitoring, testing, and issue validation activities; establishing compliance issue management and validation processes. This position will manage the testing, monitoring and issues management team.
Position Responsibilities:


  • Partner with Line of Business, Compliance, Risk and third parties to ensure all processes and procedures are in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Interface with first line including business unit risk liaisons, including actively participating in business unit meetings, committees, and providing support and guidance on compliance testing and monitoring.
  • Manage and maintain enterprise-wide policies, standards, and procedures designed to achieve compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Participate in industry forums to know best practices and implement best practices as appropriate.
  • Establish standards for monitoring and reporting of compliance risks in the FLOD.
  • Provide advice and guidance to FLOD (e.g., selecting monitoring activities, generating reports).
  • Develop SLOD monitoring protocols to measure FLOD adherence to regulations, policies, control framework, etc.
  • Define escalation procedures for compliance issues and exceptions.
  • Aggregate and reports on compliance risks across the enterprise.
  • Review and challenges FLOD results and escalate as needed.
  • Establish standards for compliance testing in the FLOD.
  • Provides advice and guidance to FLOD (e.g., deciding testing plans, testing design).
  • Perform independent review of overall FLOD adherence to policies and standards.
  • Develops tests and testing plans to review FLOD execution of compliance risk management activities (e.g., FLOD testing, FLOD monitoring, issue resolution).
  • Tests FLOD controls for effectiveness of execution and adherence to policies/standards.
  • Develop and execute validation process for issue closure.
  • Develop and execute compliance issue management processes.
  • Manage testing and monitoring team.
  • Manage special projects and team initiatives.
  • Independently identify projects and tasks to be completed and lead teams and solo efforts to complete and act as a primary contact to the business on associated compliance matters.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 10 years of experience in financial services or related industry
  • 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management in financial services or related industry
  • 5 years of experience in managing compliance testing and monitoring processes

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
