Japanese Bilingual Experienced Accountant (Remote)
Location: Remote (Must reside in the Los Angeles or Orange County area for occasional client on-site work)
Work Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (Flexible schedule available)
Employment Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Direct-Hire
Overview:
A well-established CPA firm is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual accountant with 2+ years of public accounting experience to join their Outsourcing Services team. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in the Los Angeles or Orange County area for occasional client site visits (1-4 times/month).
The role involves full-cycle bookkeeping, financial reporting, client communication, and process improvement. Ideal candidates will have strong accounting knowledge (GAAP), excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach. CPA license is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not are Limited to:
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships and ensuring high-quality service.
Visit client sites up to 4 times per month to provide in-person support and foster rapport.
Proactively identify and address client needs with timely and accurate solutions.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Support financial statement reviews and compilations (attestation services).
Assist clients in improving accounting and tax workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Respond to client inquiries with clear, professional communication based on intermediate-level accounting knowledge.
Collaborate with Tax and Attestation teams as needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in both client and internal operations.
Support the implementation of new accounting systems and software.
Work closely with Managers and Senior Managers to provide insights and support.
Mentor and guide junior team members to support their professional growth.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting.
Japanese and English bilingual skills (advanced to business).
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). and accounting software.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to work overtime during peak periods (overtime will be compensated)
Ability to travel to client sites within the local area, 1-4 times a month expected.
CPA is highly preferred.

Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
