Your role

As a Virtual Sales Engineer, your mission is to act as a single point of contact for customer both pre- and post-sale activities, take ownership of the open territory, and lapsed service customers to drive sales. You will report to the Customer Success/Virtual Sales Manager.

You will



  • Act as a single point of contact for customers providing pre- and post-sale activities for sales under a prescribed dollar amount and complexity.
  • Collaborate and communicate with outside sales personal to ensure full coverage of customer needs.
  • Proactively follow up on warm marketing leads and requested quotes for Service Business Line.
  • Provide general information on all Service Products.
  • Takes ownership of open territory and lapsed service customers to drive sales.
  • Works with applications and tech support team to offer product alternatives to best meet customer requirements and support sales objectives.
  • Recognize that a customer of one product could also purchase other Leybold products and set up leads for new equipment, field service and service contract opportunities.
  • Contribute to the satisfaction of all business lines with enhanced performance to create experiences that will lead to higher efficiencies and improved performance.
  • Demonstrate proactive selling of Leybold service products. Identifies opportunities for expanding the sale through additional options and complimentary products.
  • Maintains customer databases.
  • Document customer activity using our CRM.
  • Build professional network opportunities quickly and effectively by having the opportunity to visit the lab and factory to better understand our operations.
  • Foster a company culture starting in early-careers to gain comprehensive understanding that aligns with our Group's expectations.
  • Effectively learn the role in an office environment benefiting from immediate access to colleagues for on-the-spot assistance.
  • Promote sustainability through in-office work to reduce time and costs associated with commuting that enahnces operational efficiency and minimizes environmental impact.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 1-3 years of experience in the technical displine, business, or marketing with technical aptitude is preferred
  • B.S. degree in Engineering, other Technical discipline, business or marketing with a technical aptitud
  • Vacuum equipment or selling of technical product experience a plus
  • CRM experience preferred
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products
  • Positive customer-focused attitude and successful interaction in a dynamic team environment is a must
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Attention to details and problem-solving abilities
  • Phenomenal teammate who is flexible and adaptable
  • A self-starter with strong work ethic
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus
  • Valid driver's license

While in-office work is standard, flexible exceptions, such as remote, are being explored on the West Coast for effective implementation. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Leybold USA Inc. facility in Export, PA, United States after training.
