Position Summary
An Alumni Relations Professional is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with alumni of the University of Georgia. Responsibilities include coordinating graduate alumni relations for the Graduate School and serving as a liaison to the UGA Office of Development and Alumni Relations. As Event Coordinator, this role involves providing oversight of the schedule of Graduate School events that serve the alumni as well as graduate students and the public, and serving as the primary planner and contact for reservations and other efforts necessary to support high-profile Graduate School events.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, students, and alumni.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative planning skills.
  • Familiarity with graduate education and fundraising strongly preferred.

Coordinate Alumni Relations for the Graduate School and Serve as Liaison to UGA Office of Development and Alumni Relations

  • Serve as primary point of contact for UGA graduate alumni.
  • Serve as point of contact for the Graduate Education Advancement Board.
  • Plan and lead alumni outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Work with Dean to develop and communicate strategic fundraising priorities to Graduate Education Advancement Board.
  • Coordinate with UGA Development and Alumni Relations on fundraising efforts and donor relations.

Coordinate the Schedule of Graduate School Events that Serve External Audiences (e.g., graduate students, alumni, public)

  • Coordinate with Director of Marketing and Communications to promote events.
  • Coordinate with Graduate School Directors and Dean's Office to schedule and plan events.
  • Maintain internal Graduate School calendar for planning purposes; ensure that Graduate School events are scheduled to avoid conflicts.
  • Manage online orientation each semester.
  • List appropriate events (open to public and/or to general graduate student/faculty/staff audiences) on UGA master calendar.
  • Send reminders to event leaders to conduct evaluations with attendees.
