Overview

Orrick's New Business & Conflicts (NB&C) team has an excellent opportunity for a Conflicts Support Coordinator. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices with a preference for one of our West Coast offices (Los Angeles; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; or Seattle) and consideration given for 100% remote US locations.


Responsibilities

The Role: As a Conflicts Support Coordinator, you will provide administrative and data management support to the Director of NB&C and other members of the NB&C to ensure that work is efficiently managed through effective workloads and leveraging technology.

  • Communication channels: You will monitor the NB&C email inbox and facilitate the flow of communication between the Department and firm personnel requesting conflicts and new matters.
  • Data Management: You will maintain engagement letters, riders, clearance emails, waivers, and other client engagement-related documentation in appropriate firm systems; .
  • Workflow:You will facilitate processing of new business conflicts and matter requests and engagement and waiver letters. You will attend to filing letters, attaching documents to forms, adding responses or additional conflict or matter-related information to forms and submitting same back to the request queue, responding to status inquiries, client and matter exemptions. With your technical know-how, you will organize electronic matter files and utilize other firm resources to improve workflow efficiencies.
  • Innovate:We are inspired by innovation and committed to leading it in every area of our firm. One of your responsibilities will be to look for ways to streamline processes and procedures, identify new and expanded uses for existing technologies and contribute to our environment of innovation.
  • Meetings & Travel: You will assist with the coordination of air/car/hotel arrangements and prepare travel itineraries, managing a traveler's experience from start to finish, including expense reports. You will also arrange teleconference and videoconference meetings-often across time zones-reserve meeting rooms and visiting offices, prepare and submit expense reports and travel related items., with the support of internal resources and tech tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • One to three years of practical work experience preferred.
  • High technology aptitude and excellent computer skills in the full MS Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Crazy attention to detail.
  • Some research and database skills highly desirable.
  • Flexibility, an enthusiastic approach to client service, and strong organization and time management skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is

  • California Major Markets* $45,000 - $61,000
  • New York City $48,000 - $61,000
  • National $44,000 - $56,000

* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
