Job Summary

Tutoring Department front desk receptionist. This position be a point of contact for students/faculty/guests at the Tempe Tutoring location. Provide support to staff, tutors, and students. Answer emails, phone, transfer calls and take accurate messages. Create tutoring appointments, help student connect with tutors in-person or online. Help visitors by directing them, answering their questions politely. Provide basic technology support to student and tutors; help student/staff log in and virtual meetings; assist with projects; filing; office cleaning and organizing. To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.

Essential Functions

60% - Provides service support for the Tutoring Department; greets student, staff, faculty, and guests; answers emails, phone calls, and schedules tutoring appointments; check in/out students; and organizes data for review and maintain accurate records

20% - Provides basic technology support; helps student and staff sign-in to lab computers, navigating through RioLearn, starting virtual meeting (Webex, Google Meet). sign-in to LMS, staff sign

10% - Provides academic support for students; directs student to proper resources to enhance the students' learning experience; attends department meeting and trainings

10% - Maintains tutoring area clean and organized; creates IT tickets to maintain printer and computers working properly; performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

A. Detail orientated, self-directed, excellent problem-solving skills
B. Excellent communication skills; good phone and email etiquette
C. Basic computer skills including MS Office and Google Workspace; enter and retrieve information from databases and/or other record keeping systems
D. Previous customer service experience within an office environment
E. Work well independently and be self-motivated
F. Flexible schedule: weekend and evening shift available

May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
