Senior Application Developer - Lead Projects & Drive Innovation

As a Senior Application Developer, you'll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions. What You'll Do

As a Senior Application Developer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our technical solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and participate in project planning, identifying development tasks, creating work plans, and managing workflows to meet timelines.
  • Solution Design & Development: Collaborate with architects to align with long-term IT strategies, translate complex business requirements into technical specifications, and design scalable, efficient applications.
  • Coding & Integration: Build high-quality applications, perform code reviews, and ensure seamless integration with other platforms.
  • Quality Assurance: Define and enforce development standards, conduct testing, review modules for compliance, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Database Development: Design and develop relational databases, ensuring optimization and scalability.
  • Mentorship & Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior developers, offering expertise in application development, architecture, and best practices.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging technologies, recommend solutions, and promote effective use of IT systems through education and training.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced developer who can operate in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Key qualifications include:

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of application programming and analysis experience, with a strong understanding of information systems and architecture standards.
  • Proven success leading projects and delivering scalable solutions.

Technical Expertise

  • Experience working withComposable Commercesolutions and modern technologies.
  • Expertise inReactfor building modern, dynamic user interfaces and component-based architecture.
  • Strong background inMicrosoft development tools, includingVisual Studio/CodeandC# programming language.
  • Expertise inmicroservice architecture,B2B2C solutions, andheadless architectureplatforms (e.g., CommerceTools, ContentStack).
  • Deep understanding ofNoSQL, relational database design,Object-Oriented Design Patterns, Event Streaming and integration methodologies.
  • Advanced programming skills in multiple languages with a focus ontest-driven development.

Key Skills

  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into multiple solution options, clearly explaining the pros and cons of each.
  • Proficient in mentoring and leading technical teams, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Technical experience in systems front-end/back-end development, networking, databases, and user support.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of branching and merging strategies for version control.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically requires 8 or more years of application programming and analysis experience.

Has a broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards. Experience in leading projects. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements and develop alternate solutions. Experience designing, developing and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies, in a variety of technologies and environments

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced programming skills in several programming languages

  • Advanced understanding of relational database design and theory

  • Ability to translate complicated business requirements into multiple solution options and explain the pros/cons of various approaches

  • Advanced knowledge of Object-Orient Design Patterns and use cases for applying them

  • Proficient communication skills and experience in mentoring/leading junior developers

  • Technical experience with systems networking, databases, development, and user support.

  • Good background in Data Base design (e.g. Microsoft SQL and Access)

  • Exposure to servers technology (e.g. IBM Power 8) would be helpful to assist with integration

  • Experience with WMS application (e.g. Inbound, Outbound, Pick pack and ship processes) preferred but not required.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
