Department: Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Position Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 5:30 am - 4:00 pm, Variable four-day weeks

Your role with us

As a registered nurse on our inpatient rehabilitation unit, you'll provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with complex medical needs, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to promote optimal outcomes and support patients' journeys towards recovery and independence. You'll utilize your expertise in assessment, intervention, and education to deliver high-quality care and foster a safe, supportive environment for patients and families. This role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

What you'll do


  • Assess patients' needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
  • Prioritize care based on patients' current needs, intervene in emergency situations, and demonstrate follow-through in completing patient care tasks.
  • Document patient assessments, plans, interventions, and responses accurately and consistently, and initiate and document teaching for patients and families.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, utilizing good communication skills, sharing information, and providing status updates.
  • Seek and utilize evidence-based practice, participate in continuous professional development, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain a safe unit environment, use patient restraints safely and appropriately, and demonstrate ability and willingness to assist management staff in full utilization of their skills.
  • Participate in leadership activities, such as assuming the charge nurse role, supervising and directing care given by others, and utilizing problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during the shift.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts degree in nursing, or non-nursing bachelor's degree with a Master of Science in nursing (MSN); Candidates with an associate's degree in nursing (ADN) and graduates of a diploma RN program are also encouraged to apply; ADN applicants with less than five years of acute care experience will be required to sign an agreement committing to complete their BSN or MSN degree within three years of hire.
  • Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a registered nurse in the State of Oregon.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one year of RN Staff Nurse experience.
