A rapidly growing, media company is seeking a Controller to lead its finance operations. The Controller will own full-cycle accounting, including GL, AR/AP, payroll, revenue recognition, and close. They will lead a team and implement controls, manage audits, streamline processes, and support financial planning. What do you need in this Corporate Controller role?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • MUST have a CPA license
  • MUST have a public accounting background
  • MUST have marketing, media, or related industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with financial reporting, audit coordination, and internal controls

What will you do in this Corporate Controller role?
  • Lead day-to-day finance operations, including full-cycle accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and GL
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain GAAP-compliant policies, controls, and accounting procedures
  • Oversee audit processes and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
  • Own revenue recognition and partner with leadership on forecasting and planning
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and optimize the use of finance systems
  • Mentor, coach, and grow a high-performing accounting team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and act as a strategic partner to the CFO
  • Support M&A diligence, integrations, and financial modeling projects as needed

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
