Job Description

The Director, AI Observatory Product Manager is responsible for contributing to the build out of Visa's AI Observatory tool by providing best-in-class product management and oversight. This individual must be able to work across functions, business units, regions and in deep collaboration with Global Data Office staff to identify best practices and areas of opportunity. Experience with AI product development, technology platforms, and engineering with proven ability to build new capabilities, drive organizational impact, and act as change agent are critical to success.

This role will be responsible for developing Visa's AI Observatory product features, strategy, and roadmap in partnership with key stakeholder teams to enable AI oversight and risk management.

Primary responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of an AI Observatory platform product to monitor, assess, and report on the performance, risks, and compliance of AI systems.

  • Define the functional and technical requirements for the AI Observatory platform

  • Establish KPIs and metrics for monitoring AI system performance and compliance.

  • Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to integrate AI risk and compliance considerations into the AI Observatory product.

  • Keep track of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the AI space and related compliance.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the AI Observatory and AI product development

  • Design, implement, and oversee suitable processes and system capabilities to maintain a comprehensive inventory of AI systems within the AI Observatory

  • Conduct business process analysis, needs, assessments, and lead design sessions/user story workshops to align solutions with business needs

  • Perform discovery with business and technical experts to maintain accurate baseline of AI inventoryand developing AI projects at Visa

  • Oversee AI systems and capabilities going into production and ensure proper level of documentation in place and maintained

  • Work with partners in Data and AI Governance, Risk, Technology, Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy, and other key stakeholders to ensure business challenges are properly addressed

  • Partner with business/technical staff to diagnose issues and create improvement suggestions

  • Leverage large data sets to provide insight-driven decision-making support and reporting for strategic initiatives around viewing insights

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

-10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

-12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, advanced degree preferred

-Minimum of 8 years of experience in AI product management with proven track record of successfully designing, managing and launching AI products

-Excellent communication and leadership skills

-Experience in business intelligence, AI systems classification, metadata management, regulatory compliance, and building and implementing AI explainability and fairness tools

-Experience working to uplift and mature AI product capabilities, policies definition, controls and frameworks

-Ability to work effectively within a large, matrixed organization

-Excellent problem-solving skills with track record in synthesizing complex information to produce impactful management information and support informed decision making (risk/reward, cost/benefit tradeoffs)

-Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and sustain relationships across levels and role types - influences and collaborates with all levels, functions and geographies

-Superior communication and problem-solving skills with a passion to get things done, learn and inspire peers and business partners to uplift skills and capabilities

-Self-starter, works independently, and thrives on driving execution and delivering results

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 194,600.00 to 282,150.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
