Position Overview

The Lead Initiative Communications Manager will develop and support comprehensive communications plans for large-scale, company-wide initiatives. You will leverage your expertise in strategic communications, project management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure all communications align with our organizational goals and objectives. This position is onsite and based in Madison, WI.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and implement communication strategies for major company initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, understand project requirements, and create cohesive communication plans.
  • Craft clear, compelling messages and content for various channels, including internal newsletters, emails, presentations, and social media.
  • Manage the execution of communication plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, making adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between the communications team and other departments, ensuring consistent messaging and coordination.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on best practices for communication and engagement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in corporate communications.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Ability and means to travel 15-20% between local Exact Sciences Madison locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% away from work location. May include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or relevant field as outlined in essential duties.
  • 5+ years of experience in a communications role, preferably within a large organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication plans for large-scale initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, such as email marketing software, social media, and content management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in change management communications.
  • Knowledge of internal communication best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Salary Range:

$109,000.00 - $185,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
