Position Summary
This position will serve as an Associate Clinical Research Coordinator within the UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center ( TARC) Clinical Trials Team and the Sheikh Research Team. The Associate Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the execution of clinical research protocols, including leading efforts in gathering, compiling, and reporting data for a variety of research studies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Must be able to use considerable judgement and skills in performing work assignments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally. Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team.

Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. This position requires significant efficiency, organization and attention to detail. All data and documents must be collected properly in a timely manner and checked for accuracy and completeness before submission to Industry site/sponsors. In all
aspects of the research, confidentiality must be respected. Further responsibilities to ensure the confidentiality of patient data and protect the privacy of all study subjects include refraining from discussing subjects, maintaining encoded subject identification, and locked study files.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate necessary data in both written and oral forms. The coordinator will be present and participate in Clinical Trials Team meetings and will be readily available to communicate any urgent matters related to patient care as needed and on a day-to-day basis. Must be a team player and have strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, educational, and cultural backgrounds.

The position requires the ability to work with several colleagues in the same office without inadvertently disrupting others' work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with proficiency in computer usage, especially word processing.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in clinical environment, managing health information, and/or clinical trials.
