Business Analyst

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and process-driven Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in serving as the operational and reporting backbone for our Property Revenue Optimization Partnership (PROP) meetings and other cross-functional initiatives. This individual will work at the intersection of Asset Management, Property Management, Revenue, and Marketing, supporting data-driven decision-making, meeting facilitation, and ad hoc analysis.

You will also act as a key resource to the Property Management team, responding to real-time operational questions with clear, accurate reporting and insights. This is a high-impact role suited for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves with SQL, Power BI and Excel, but also thrives in cross-functional environments where process, communication, and structure matter.

The ideal candidate will have progressive work experience working with financial and operational datasets, a strong understanding of BI tools (specifically PowerBI), and a track record of successful project management. They will be adept at creating clear and concise reporting solutions, be a fastidious note taker, task-oriented and able to compile information into concise communications for team members.

This position reports directly to the Manager of FP&A within the Asset Management Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

PROP Program & Meeting Coordination



  • Lead weekly PROP meetings material preparation and administration - aligning stakeholders from Revenue Management, Start-Up, Property Management and Marketing to drive collaborative decision-making
  • Collect and organize pre-meeting commentary and data inputs from each department, ensuring informed discussions and strategic focus
  • Maintain meeting rhythm, ensure accountability on action items, and continuously improve workflow
  • Maintain detailed property reporting through manual data synchronization with our data warehouse until more advanced systems are developed


Reporting & Data Analysis (FP&A + Property Ops)



  • Deliver accurate, insightful reports to the Property Management team in response to ad hoc business questions
  • Perform detailed analysis to support the FP&A team and Asset Management leadership
  • Build, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards that surface key KPIs and performance trends
  • Write SQL queries to extract data directly from our centralized Azure SQL data warehouse
  • Create Excel-based models for financial and operational analysis (pricing, leasing, turnover, etc.)


Systems & Workflow Optimization



  • Identify gaps in reporting, process bottlenecks, and manual tasks that can be streamlined or automated
  • Partner with internal software and data teams to build tools and improve data visibility across teams
  • Support adoption of standardized reporting and documentation processes


Qualifications

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred, and contributes toward required experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Real Estate, Finance, Asset Management, Private Equity, Investment Banking or a related field
  • Experience in multifamily is highly preferred
  • Experience building forecasts using driver-based methodologies
  • Experience querying data from a data warehouse, utilizing SQL
  • Proficiency in Python or other object-oriented/scripting languages is a plus

  • Able to manage cross-functional relationships with both corporate and site-level teams
  • Problem-solver who enjoys building better systems and workflows
  • Team-player, who can work closely with our Operations, Capital Markets and Debt teams to interpret actuals as well as forecast effectively
  • Open to new ideas and approaches, with a strong drive to learn and optimize existing workflows
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills required
  • Knowledge of SQL required
