Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Maintenance Excellence Leader to be based out of Phoenix, AZ. The Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience Engineering and/or Maintenance field in a steel Industry, developing, leading, and executing proven maintenance reliability programs preferred.

The Maintenance Excellence Leader will take on the role of leading the development and execution of the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence Roadmap. The primary objective of this position is to achieve World Class Maintenance & Equipment Reliability by implementing a strategic plan and overseeing its progress. Using the 5 stage Maintenance Maturity Model approach, the chosen candidate will guide the development and execution of the maintenance excellence roadmap strategy and vision across various sites. Additionally, they will be responsible for establishing an audit system to ensure the robustness of practices and processes, as well as championing and executing change initiatives to drive Maintenance Excellence within the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to provide guidance and support for all Maintenance Excellence activities, focusing on improving organizational performance.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering and/or Maintenance field in a steel Industry, developing, leading, and executing proven maintenance reliability programs. Experience in cost drivers of maintenance in manufacturing operations, Project engineering management and experience in TPM is a requirement.

What you'll do:

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the development & execution of the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence Roadmap to achieve World Class Maintenance & Equipment Reliability and drive progress and issue cause resolution against the plan.
• Enhance system reliability and improve uptime through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting strategies.
• Utilizing the 5 stage Maintenance Maturity Model approach, cascade the development and oversee execution by site, maintenance excellence roadmap strategy and vision.
• Develop and conduct an audit system to ensure practices and processes are robust, and progress towards goals.
• Champion and execute change initiatives to the pursuit of Maintenance Excellence.
• Provide leadership and guidance for all Maintenance Excellence activities focused on improving the performance of the organization.
• Create and implement daily maintenance effectiveness metrics to identify opportunities for root cause resolution and prevention action of issues (LDM).
• Create program KPI's and TTI's to measure and gauge success.
• Standardize use of a CMMS systems and configuration across the enterprise.
• Create and execute plan to build out the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence Team to support and maximize site maintenance and asset performance.
• Coach Maintenance Excellence methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the enterprise.
• Create and deploy flawless Outage Planning and Execution for critical equipment by site.
• Benchmark TPM methodology as the multi-disciplined approach to maintain/improve fixed assets, and ARM to manage their life cycle.
• Guide enterprise to reduce technical stoppages in equipment or areas of common and most impactful occurrence.
• Develop and Deploy Key Productivity Indicators that evaluate the equipment by Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) with an effective short- and long-term data driven restoration process/plan.
• Create and deploy across the enterprise, equipment criticality and reliability analysis, utilizing FMEA (Failure Modes Effects Analysis) and both, historical data, and OEM recommendations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Support achievement of annual capital and expense budgets by proper program alignment with each site's X-matrix plan.
• Create a strategic enterprise R&M cost reduction plan, year over year.
• Oversee and provide recommendations for site storeroom management performance improvements and sustainability.
• Identify continuous improvement projects and develop business cases in collaboration with site specific teams.
• Lead in establishment of vendor/contractor resources for repairs and supplies for the company to fill direct resource gaps.
• Familiar with process improvement tools and applications of lean six sigma, and TPM methodologies for asset maintenance and reliability improvement
• Comply with all Company rules, regulations, and policies.
• Provide indirect leadership to staff at each site.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel required - 50-60% base with additional as business needs arise.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Master's degree preferred, relevant certifications a plus (i.e., SMRP, CMRP, Lean Six Sigma BB).
• Prior multi-level site responsibly required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Engineering and/or Maintenance field in a steel Industry, developing, leading, and executing proven maintenance reliability programs preferred.
• Knowledge, understanding, and passion for lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge and understanding of the cost drivers of Maintenance in manufacturing operations.
• Project Engineering/Management.
• TPM experience required.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Complete your Atkore Onboarding & Immersion program
• Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
• Visit the locations you support and begin building relationships with site contacts

Within 6 months, you'll:

• Measures the overall effectiveness of equipment.
• Evaluates the average time between equipment failures.
• Assesses the average time required to repair equipment.
• Indicates the percentage of planned maintenance activities.

Within 12 months, you'll:

• Schedule Compliance measures the extent of adherence to planned maintenance schedules.
• Emergency Maintenance Percentage reflects the proportion of unplanned maintenance work.
• Planned Maintenance Compliance measures the percentage of completed planned maintenance activities.
• Work Order Completion Rate indicates the percentage of completed work orders within a timeframe.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $111,360 - $153,120. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
