As a member of our Structural team, you'll work alongside architects, engineers, and planners to deliver innovative, high-impact projects across sectors. In this role, you will:

    Be the primary Revit resource for structural project teams

  • Build and manage the structural portion of 3D building models

  • Produce detailed construction documents and as-builts

  • Coordinate design efforts with project architects and engineers

  • Support modeling standards and quality control with the broader Structural group

In this role you will:

  1. develop Revit models and execute design drawings for medium to large projects for multiple project types with the design integrity and technical standards of designated project including but not limited to:
    • preparation accurate and complete design documents using Revit;
    • project model set up and structural systems modeling using Revit;
    • assuring that drawings and designs are in accordance with design standards;
    • occasionally reviewing structural shop drawings;
    • using knowledge of building materials, building systems and mathematics to complete drawings; and
    • tracking design changes and maintain documentation control.
  2. collaborate with others in the office and across the company to address structural engineering needs through virtual teaming, training, and project collaboration with other structural engineers and designers in our other offices;
  3. provide information to Project Engineer for incorporation into specifications and organize and maintain project files;
  4. identify potential problems, recommend solutions and work with team leaders so that document completion occurs within budget and on schedule;
  5. utilize past experience and technical knowledge to enhance the quality of documents produced and maintain open and ongoing communication with team leaders or designated team members throughout the various project phases;
  6. make a professional commitment to stay current with today's technology as practiced within HGA and maintain proficiencies as necessary including Revit and Blue Beam; and
  7. visit a client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site where conditions may vary. When performing work outside of the firm's office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by the firm and/or client as required.


You will need to have:

  • Associates degree with courses and/or experience in structural and/or architectural drafting or related field or certification from technical institute
  • 4+ years of drafting and BIM modeling experience working on structural related systems for medium to large commercial and institutional building project types
  • Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with effective communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit, experience producing construction documents for the structural and/or architectural portion of the building
  • Experience quantifying embodied carbon of structural systems using OneClick and/or Tally


Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $59,200 - $76,300
