SUMMARY
The Corporate Security Specialist I administers, coordinates, and evaluates the technologies and processes that support the physical security strategy, policies, and standards as defined by the Corporate Security Manager. This position ensures compliance with the Bank Protection Act and aims to mitigate physical security risks across the organization, maintains up-to-date knowledge of the Bank's security program, associated technologies, and industry best practices, and is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively based on risk, and safeguard the Bank's assets, employees, and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external clients, including but not limited to Branch Security Officers, Business Unit Managers, and law enforcement, while maintaining a focus on physical security risk mitigation.
  • Performs routine checks of electronic security systems from a centralized location to ensure proper functioning of equipment, initiates service requests and work orders as necessary.
  • Carries out security testing of applications, infrastructure, and/or platforms to discover security vulnerabilities and assess compliance with program standards.
  • Documents information in required audit reports.
  • Contributes to security system installation projects by supporting planning, coordination, and implementation efforts to ensure successful deployment and integration.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the Bank's security equipment vendors.
  • Communicates with legal counsel and law enforcement agencies (IRS, FBI, local law enforcement, etc.) when necessary.
  • Remains calm and controlled while handling stressful emergency situations and understands when to escalate them to management.
  • Fields multiple demands throughout the day and prioritizes duties based on risk and urgency.
  • Assists with other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Corporate Security Manager.
  • Embraces change as an opportunity for growth and demonstrates flexibility in adapting to evolving work environments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to learn, understand, and carry out instructions and information presented in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including via email or other electronic means.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, including communication with various vendors and bank personnel.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet navigation, to support daily tasks, documentation, and communication.
  • Comfortable learning new software tools as needed to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic knowledge of the Bank's electronic security technology, with the ability to administer the technology with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to document information clearly and efficiently in case records so a reader can understand the exact nature and disposition of an incident.
  • Ability to work weekends and other times outside of the normal schedule as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 1-3 years banking and/or other security related experience preferred
